Types of Presentations
Platform (Oral) Presentation - If your abstract is accepted as a platform presentation you will be allocated a session (time to be advised) within the program.
Poster Presentation - If your abstract is accepted as a poster, you will be required to produce a poster which follows the required poster guidelines.
Format for Abstracts
Selected (previously non-published) abstracts will be published in the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry (JNNP).
The body of the abstract should be structured with Objectives, Methods, Results and Conclusions.
Any abbreviations should be defined where first mentioned.
Abstracts will be published as submitted without any modification. Abstracts that don’t follow these instructions will not be considered for publication. Examples of abstracts can be seen in JNNP.
Abstracts should be a summary of the paper and must not exceed 250 words not including the title (except if applying for the Leonard Cox Award).
Do not include titles or degrees.
Check spelling and grammar.
Present sufficient data to support conclusions – it is unsatisfactory to use statements such as “data will be presented” or “results will be discussed”.
Failure to observe these requirements will exclude the abstract from consideration.
We undestand that some Case Reports are unable to follow the above format. Therefore, when submitting your abstract, please ensure you submit it as a Case Report.
Presentation at the Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) and Registration
All presenters must register to attend the ASM and are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and registration expenses. A condition of acceptance is that at least one author presents at the ASM.
